Thanks for your reply. I was beginning to wonder if I need to post this question in another location. I failed to mention (will correct my post) that this is a 1963. I was visiting with a friend today and he suggested that I may not be able determine much as little records were kept early on. Again any help would be greatly appreciate.

Yes agree, you should try the actual CJ forum as I only by chance checking out this international CJ forum for info regarding right hand drive components due to my CJ7 being such one. There is plenty of genuine help via the CJ forum, albeit predominantly on CJ5 and 7s.

That number is only a serial number.

US made CJs had a trim plate as well.

When assembled in other parts of the world, it was not required and you may or may not find one or any data on the jeep. Sometime sthe original registration document is more useful.
