I am a newbie to Jeepdom and have a 2010 Wrangler Sahara (4dr). I want to upgrade to 18" rims and 34 inch tires, purely for aesthetics. If I install a 2 inch body lift with spacers, will the tires fit? Any help would be great.

I would not do a 2 in body lift but would suggest a budget boost. I would also suggest you read a bit of the forum and increase your knowledge base prior to making a decision. The FAQ sticky is a good place to start.

Yes, you will be able to clear a 34" tire with a 2" BL.

2" BL is an uncommon mod on the JK, and I doubt you will find many people on forums with positive things to say about it. They are disliked because of the gaps they leave when lifting the body away from the chassis. With the 2" Body Lift on the JK, you will also have to cut some sheetmetal around the shifter (if yours is a manual), and also extent the steering shaft with a bracket. There is a video on youtube of a guy intalling one on a yellow jku. If you search for it, it might give you a better idea of the gaps, and what's involved in the install.

I would suggest a 2" coil spacer lift as mentioned above. You could also order some 1" coil spacers on the cheap off ebay or amazon and see if that will clear your tire choice. That paired with a 1" BL would work with 34's.

Lastly, you could change your fender flares and squeeze those tires in with no lift.

I did a 1" body lift with 1" coil spacers up front on my last 4-door Sahara. Those are 34x11.5 tires on the stock rims and they did not rub. A 1" body lift on a JK does not leave a big gap. As you can see from the following pics, it's hardly noticeable.

Yeh, a 2" budget level lift with a l" or 1.25" body lift is much more common, and easy with an automatic. About an hour with a lift.
My 1.25" BL goes on next week.

Thanks for saving my spot.:p

Im usually one of the first to stick up for a body lift and even I won't recommend any more than a 1"-1.25" body lift.

I think your best route would be to start with a 2" spacer or coil lift and 2" bump stop extentions. See how you like the ride height and check for tire clearance at full bump. If you want a little more height or need a little more tire clearance, add a 1"-1.25" body lift.

Not a fan of body lifts. I would do a suspension lift first. Then if you want to do a BL, you can but we usually don't recommend them. IF I were going to, I would do this one:

I would recommend something like this:

That will get you 2" front and 1" rear. Will be enough height to do what you are wanting to do.

We also have this. Little nicer as it adds shocks to the mix:

All three of these are on sale this weekend!

And it includes rear bumper brackets.

Shifter extensions are included for manual transmissions to avoid trimming, cutting, and grinding.
X2 on the rough country rear bumper brackets. Here's some pics of mine with PA 1" and rough country brackets (prior to purchase I couldn't find any after pics of the bumper with the brackets installed, so I hope this will help some folks)

So did you use the 1.25" bumper brackets with a 1" BL? I dont see any 1" bumper brackets on the RC site.
