There are those who get 30,000 miles out of stock driveshafts after a 2.5" Lift.
I am not one of them. I tore my front boot on pan the second time out. So... The only 'extra' for me was the front d/s. (it never failed, i drove 50 hours at high way speed with no sign of trouble. I prefer to manage risk)

Greetings all! I'm giving this thread a bump because I have a few additional questions pursuant to this topic :D

I have a '11 Jk 4dr Rubicon with a Kargo Master Congo Cage & Yakimia rack system. The rack is super solid and heavy so it has made the rear pretty weighted down (before I put dogs, kayaks, luggage, etc. in it!)
So what I'd like to do is a 2"-2.5" lift...suspension lift, not a body lift...
problem is... I'm a chick ;) and I know very little about what all of this entails!
To me a 'lift kit' should mean that everything I need is included...but there are SOOOO many options!
Then additional shocks...coils...etc. etc.? These things aren't normally included in a 'kit'?
I know the Rubicon stock suspension is meant to be pretty great (has been thus far) so I don't want to completely gut the suspension if its not necessary. I plan on using the 32's and not going to a larger tire/wheel.

The second portion of this question is about how long these things last? I'm seeing some people comment that they had to replace things after 30k-50k miles? I'm trying to see what I need to budget for the future...and work that into my option...
Ideally this would last for a lot longer than that because I do a LOT of travelling (through the mountains in the winter...I'm a photographer and I do a lot of resort/ski/snowboard photography...then half the year in Texas. I've had it for 4.5 months and put 7k on him thus far)

Help a girl out y'all.... small words.... pictures help.... :-D
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty much off road every time I'm shooting...sometimes to pretty remote locations up jeep trails and or through significant amounts of snow on unplowed roads, in the mountains this is (obviously) more often than in Texas unless we go out mudding/off-roading :)
