Looking to replace the auto heat/cool with manual controls, anyone done this? What parts are required? Thx!

Auto vs. manual Heater Controllers

I have a '99 GC Ltd with Auto Heater Controls. Personally I prefer just the manual type. Does anyone know if it will work if I switch the dash controller to a manual type?
