Whatever you do, stay the hell away from Rigs Unlimited in Allenstown. They seriously screwed up the lift on a friend's XJ, took way longer than they said, and overcharged him.

Tim's Speed in Nashua, NH 603-883-2700
Domenic's Auto and Jeep in Hampstead, NH 603-329-9439 http://www.domenicsautoandjeep.com/
Gunseth's 4x4 in Swanzey, NH 603-352-4204 (they're probably too far a drive for you, but they do specialize in Jeeps. http://www.gunseths4x4.com/door/

I will 2nd what he said to all above. Domenic does do any lift ya want and he is a good guy that wont steer you wrong. He does not do gear swaps though.

Archies Offroad in Wells Me. does lift installs and his prices for parts is pretty good. He realy pushes BD's lift kits. Im not sure if he does gears.

Another place near you is http://www.elias4wdcenter.com/ in Townsend Ma. Im still not sure if he is in buisness though. There web site is way old. Ive been down there 2 times during his posted open hours only to find the place locked up. First time I drove past the place 5 times, he dosent have a sign out. I have heard from many that he is awsome to deal with. By looking at the farm surrounding the place I would guess that it is a part time hobby buisness for him.

There is a place on RT1 in North Hampton, NH. I cant think of the name right now. I havent heard much good about them. They are a 4x4 place that seems to cater to the ricers.

Good luck
Todd

It's interesting that this thread started...I just bought a jeep about a month ago ('99 Wrangler I6 5sp) and have been sorta keeping an eye peeled for a local place to take my baby if something happens to it (I live just north of Concord NH) and haven't found anything yet. I'm going to checkout some of the places mentioned and thanks for the warning about the place in Allenstown. As far as trails (and I am a vociferous hiker too) there aren't any that I have found so far...I took my Jeep onto Sandwich Notch Rd. a few weeks back and there were some old roads that sorta wandered off from that and they were pretty cool. I'm going back in a few weeks and check it out a little closer. I'll betcha there are all kinds of logging roads up in Northern NH like Berlin/Milan area that might be worth checking out. I grew up in Twin Mt and at that time (60s and 70s) there were miles and miles of dirt fire roads wandering through the National Forest. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll find trails like they have in Moab, Utah and the likes :(
Good Luck

If you guys want to go wheeling, link up with Deep Woods Extreme. http://www.deepwoodsextreme.com/ They have agreements with many landowners, so for your member dues, you get about the best land access possible. I was talking with one of the guys, and he said that they do runs almost every weekend(they meet at Domenic's) and they still haven't run every trail open to them. I'll be joining next year.

Oh btw, NEWJO(another good club in the area) is having a rockcrawling competition in Washington, NH on October 11th. http://www.newjo.org/NEWJO/events/tourderocks.html Hopefully, my Rubi will have arrived, so if you go, look for a bright yellow Rubi with temp tags.(spectating, not competing)

Any updates to this thread? I'm usually thru NH in October on my way to ME. Looking for any shops that may stock winches. The no sales tax may help since the Canuck buck has gone into the dumper on the exchange rate.
