Hey everybody,

I have a 2020 jeep wrangler JL Unlimited with a custom EAG bumper. Some trips to the trail have left it chipped and rusting. I will either need to remove it, powder, coat, and reinstall, or I can get the identical bumper brand new for $350.

What is the going rate to powder coat an entire rear bumper?

would depend where you live. The bare cost to do it would be if it was bare metal.. If they have to strip it that would cost more.

You plan on quitting off road? since it will happen again even with the hardest material paints rocks tend to win every time....

Well you will be getting to know this powder coat shop/ paint repair guy rather well in time. Kind of like pin stripe. If people buffed that out every time it happens in a few season the paint would be worn off.

what cost more refinish that or replace? Why all metal i add to the jeep i get in raw, just cans of satin black once i prep it and prime. touches up easy. low cost as well.

$ 50 -75 to sand blast. Sometimes powder coat is real stubborn, you might want to use a propane torch and burn off as much as possible.

$ 75-125 to powder coat.

I gave up with powder coat and use semi-gloss Rust-Oleum straight from the can. A small roller makes a textured look. Simple, fast, and cheap to touch up any time it is chipped or looks scruffy.

I'd say best match, cheapest, and easiest solution would be bedliner in aerosol form.

You can get it in non textured or textured depending on brand. The cans don't lay as thick as roll or real spray on.

buying too many parts for too many Jeeps
