Motorad thermostat is a bet, drill a 1/16" weep hole in it

After that, sell the electric fan on Craigslist and put an oem belt fan in.

Why did you think you needed an electric fan if everything was fine.

Motorad is the one I’ve been using, still have to drill the hole

the only deviation from stock is a 3 row aluminum radiator and no Fan shroud.

Some have not had good results with those aluminum radiators fwiw
I’d change the tstat and get a fan shroud fanned up ASAP. Maybe wait on the water pump until a new thermostat opens and tests your fan shroud.

I put a new AC Delco water pump in mine and a couple others and liked it. I’ve also used a Naper pump in a situation, and a couple whatever-they-hads from advance.

But when I have time to select I bought the AC Delco

Use less gasket maker. Just a smear of the black stuff is enough because it probably doesn’t really need sealer

If you can’t find something acceptable I got mine from Amazon

If it boils after shutting off though…

Do the water pump I guess and report back.

Thoughts on the lower T stat temp?

it’s worth a try but boiling on shutdown has some cause for pause.
is your catalytic converter plugged? Is there cat chunks in the muffler?
have you had an A/F sniffer test to see if you’re rich or lean?
