All of the j10 Front axles are Dana 44's But it depends what year you have as to what will easley work. You don't want the older close nuckel 44 the spindles are weak and the leak all the time. you need to make sure that the differential is on the correct side for your truck. also the older ones were spring over. the newer ones are 6 lug GM and use gm disc brakes.
You have a 1997 Dana 30 front axle, very little was shared with a 1970s Dana 44. If you have a particular need for the knuckles and brakes from your later axle you need to look at how the knuckle attaches to the axle, the length of the driveshaft and spline count.
