401 ci with motorcraft carb.
Idles in park but not in gear. Thoughts?
This car hadn't been driven since early 90's so I replaced all the vacuum lines that were apparent. Yes, I've replaced all the fuel, filters (twice) and hoses. It has the stock Ford Duraspark distributor.

When you say it does not idle, what are the symptoms?

Is the choke properly setup?

If you have an auto, the curb idle speed is set with the engine in Drive. Sounds bledy dangerous, I think I would set it in neutral and see what it was when I engaged Drive, safely sitting behind the wheel.

Found the issue, maybe

#1. I took both fuel tanks out and they were nasty. They're being cleaned professionally.
#2. The fuel splitter may not have been working properly. Maybe because of #1. We bypassed the splitter and it ran
much better. The splitter is a Standard product, anyone know of a better one?
