My 1996 Jeep Cherokee speedometer doesn't work after replacing AW4 Auto Trans and Transfer Case. What do you guys think?

Update: I took the jeep out for another run and I noticed my gauges work on the dashboard, except for the temperature gauge and the Cruise Control which weren't running.

Did you check the connector?

Another update: Looks like I noticed Check Engine Light with an error code of 15. Wiring or Vehicle Speed Sensor. Okay looks like I've isolated the problem. Thanks

Looks like Speedometer gear may need replacement.

How do I find out my rear differential ratio? Looks like I need my gear ratio and tire size to get the right speedometer gear. Weird but this XJ runs 16" tires.

If I'm not badly mistaken, the gears are color coded. Just get the same color gear, and you should be golden.

Count the teeth on the existing gear and/or look for markings or part numbers.

Stock AW-4 Cherokees from the mid 1990's have 3.55 gears.
