I am checking the timing on this 85 CJ7 with 150ci. In manual is says to disconnect the vacuum switch assembly and distributor vacuum line plugged but not sure where this vacuum switch is located? Anyone have a picture of it?

But can you just pull the vacuum hose off the distributor and plug it with a golf tee?

Someone might still have a link to the 84-86 factory shop manual and they may have a drawing in there of it's location.

Wasn't it up against the firewall? Been a while, I yanked out the 150 about 15 years ago.

thanks, yes the faded instructions on front clip say pull vacuum hose off distributor and disconnect the vacuum switch assembly to check timing, I am just not sure what or where it is.
Yes the factory shop manual would help!

Vacuum Switch Assembly. Should be on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
