I have a 1997 Cherokee 4.0. A couple of days ago, after I had driven a short distance from home, the remote wouldn't work any more. Of course I replaced the batteries, held the key fob against the security panel over the front seats, tried to unlock the immobiliser by turning the...
98 Jeep Cherokee Classic,
Did some searching but nothing relative.
During warm weather, keyfob works perfectly unlocking and locking doors (battery in fob is also new). But when it gets cold out, metal contracts, the unlock motor or a relay/solinoid doesn't like to unlock the doors, and have...
Just got my 2018 JK 2 door a week ago, the dealership (not Jeep) didn't have the 2nd key. Just went to Jeep dealer near me, they quoted $250 for new key with program :surprise:......anybody have any luck with another way to get a 2nd key? Otherwise I'll be sticking with one key!
I apologize if this is the incorrect place to create this, I have looked all over for an answer and cannot seem to find anything regarding the 2008 WK Jeep Grand Cherokee on this (there are a bunch of older as well as newer broken key fob tips but I cannot find any with this specific key fob)...
Does anybody know wich key fob should be used for a 1998 ZJ?
When I bought my ZJ it only came with the valet key and nothing else.
Can you program the fob yourself?
I read somewhere you can also use the key fob of some other Chrysler/Dodge models?
Hi, I'm a new member. Apologize in advance if this is in the wrong section.

I am getting ready to install a remote start/after market alarm in my '06 WK. There are a few threads out there with some info on remote starts, but I didn't want to hijack the thread with my own questions. So here they are.
1) This thread outlines some good remote start recommendations. It...
I just replaced the offending wires in the door jam and for a week everything was golden.
I went out in the morning and the system appeared dead again. (around 9am) I just started it up and went ahead and did my errands. Out of habit I hit the lock button when I got home and, ta da it worked...
I have a 2004 Liberty with a shorted key fob. Previous owner let it get wet, took it apart, removed battery, broke PCB too. The overhead console has an option for "Train remote".
I am looking at the key fob on Amazon linked below. It says I need a working key fob otherwise take it to the...
This would be my first post in ~8+ years and looking forward to getting back into wheeling :2thumbsup:
I just purchased a '08 WK that uses the key FOBIK. The transponder works as it should but the door locks, etc do not function. I only have the one FOBIK. I am an Electro-mechanical...
I bought an older jeep for my son after letting him use my wrangler unlimited for a few weeks after he got his license, but he told me how he liked my key, the remote and key are all one, like this
So I looked online and could only find that style key for jeeps newer than his. His jeep has a...
I have a '95 and one keyless entry fob. It does work, but the battery life is not that great, but I would like a second one. Is that possible since it uses IR? If I get a 3rd party unit with a RF entry, does it connect just to the door locks or is there a connection that would be better? - Jeremy

My Jeep is coming up for 54k miles just started getting some weird issues on one of my keys/remotes.
key 1 = bad
key 2 = good
When I try and unlock the Jeep with key 1, one key press on unlock, instead of unlocking the remote starter kicks in and starts up the Jeep.
Key fob doesn't open/close doors or stop immobiliser. Happened 3 months ago and a new fob battery sorted it. Have same problem again. This time fob battery tested OK at 3v and jeep battery tested OK at 12v. Any help would be appreciated.
