Hi, I’m new to the forum and I’ll soon be the proud owner of an ’87 Grand Wagoneer. Does anyone have a great mechanic they could recommend in the Massachusetts area? Hello, A few weeks ago my oil pressure went up so high it blew my oil filter, and OPS. I would greatly appreciate some direction here. Here are the details and timeline; 1989 Grand Wagoneer with a 360 and 127k miles Back in October I noticed the oil pressure was very low (single digits) so I...

Hi, after much frustration waiting forever for a friend to finish getting my 87' Grand Waggy running, dropping the project in my lap, having the Jeep towed to the repair shop I work at, now it's been 4 months and I just do not know when the guys here will have time to work on it! We are swamped...

I have a dilemma, I bought a 87' Grand Wagoneer from a dealer in Portland,OR. It drove home great, except for a starter that went out! I asked the dealer if it would pass smog, he said he was exempt. OK. Long story short, I took it into a smog check here in California. It didn't pass, little if...

I just picked up a '87 Grand Wagoneer, and was told it has a thrust bearing issue. But with 140k, I just want to do an engine swap. I would like to put in a Jasper V8. Is there a section here for wanted parts or parts for sale? I just joined (literally 2 mins ago), and getting used to this...

Hi, I replaced my Grand Wagoneer's engine with a Jasper remanufactured engine six months ago. It seems to run fine, but eats a quart of oil per 1,000 miles. No blue smoke, no obvious oil leaks. Any ideas on a cause, or is this normal for the engine? Thanks for the help - Joe.

Need some help here… My 88 Grand Wagoneer is in storage right now and I decided to start it up like I normally do every other week, so as I was attempting to fire her up, it was normally cranking, battery had enough juice, starter was working fine, everything sounded normal until I stopped and...

Just found out thru the Jeep dealer in town that my 87' Grand Wagoneer has or SHOULD have the high altitude emissions package. What is different from the typical emissions that would have come with this vehicle? It was originally from Idaho, then sold to a guy in Washington state who took all...

Hi, I have two Grand Wagoneers I am looking at as I FINALLY have the chance to get a good one! One is an 86', rebuilt engine and tranny, rebuilt carb and new radiator. Interior is good, with normal wear and tear. The worst part about it is the driver's side wheatherstripping, needs replacement...

I found a decent 86' Waggy that has a rebuilt engine and tranny. Both have 25,000 miles on them. The guy who has this thing treats it like a queen, well maintained and it's in very good condition for it's age, inside and out. The worst part of it is the rear woodgrain, kinda faded. I don't mind...

Need some good advice here. So I have an 88' Grand Wagoneer with the stock 360. I had to rebuild the engine mainly because it had terrible blow-by, oil was coming out of the dipstick and the truck had over 163,000 miles. It had to be driven without the oil cap to avoid any smoke into the cabin...

I need help. I recently began a project to change out the wiring harness on my 76 cj that has an 86 360 from a Grand Wagoneer. The ignition system was from the cj minus the distributor that came along with the engine. Before I tore it down it ran beautifully. After I put all back together it...
