History
The Jeep's wheelbase was stretched 15" by Jason and Mike of MCE Fenders back in 2010. The stretch allowed use of a stock LJ soft top. the wheel base is 4" longer than a stock LJ and maintains the rear departure angle of a SWB TJ. The Jeep was used by Jason and Mike for R & D of their MCe Fenders, driven daily and also made yearly trips (driven, not trailered) to Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari.
The AX15 transmission was pulled and an AW4 put in it's place. The NP231 was clocked for clearance, a Teraflex 2-lo kit installed and finished with a flat skid plate. A Clayton long arm kit with 3-link front and 4-link rear was installed along with 3-1/2" RE springs and Bilstein 5100 shocks. A Currie Currectlync was installed along with a Rubicon TJ front axle. The axles have been filled with ARB lockers, 4.56 gears and Nitro Axle shafts. Tom Wood drive shafts (double cardon) at each end.
Body armer consists of Poison Spyder Bruiser corners, custom cut for the wheelbase stretch. Bumpers are custom made and secure a WARN 8000 winch, Vivion X off road lights and recovery points. The interior cage has a Poison Spyder sport cage and rear bar added for extra protection. The interior is largely stock, but with the rear seat relocated for extra leg room and some extra stroage space not available in an LJ.
The Fenders are MCE Felxible Fenders, Gen III Carbon Fiber (in looks only!), 4" wide and cover 35" BFG KM2 tires on ATX Slab wheels. though the Jeep is no longer owned by MCE, it does frequent trail rides with the Owners and is used by us for camping and exploring of Washington's great landscpe. It is also daily driven for work and whatever!
