60th Anniversary Edition

In 2009 I sold my 1991 Blue YJ as we were going through Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover. It was paid for, but selling it helped pay off another debt so I did it. It took a whole lot of pride swallowing to go from my YJ on 35s to a hoopty, old Toyota Camry. So after 25 months of driving that nasty looking old car with 4 broke door handles & paying off $60k, it was finally time to get another jeep. My wife surprised me with it on my birthday in 2012 (wrote a check for it!). I've had it 4 years and have done all of the work myself, except for only "assisting" with the regearing & welding. I spent 3 years building it to about where it is now, working slowly & spending only cash for the build. My son is my riding partner and hasn't missed a ride with me since I got it. He's 11 now & here recently I've started teaching him how to drive the jeep offroad, and he's a natural. I cherish that time with him and friends out at the local offroad parks & jeep events and look forward to building some awesome memories over the next few years. The final plan to finish up the build will be a full roll cage this summer, and next summer stretching the wheelbase out, and possibly going to 40s.

Armor from Poison Spyder - DeFender XC highlines w/ 3" tapered flare, spyder insert, & aluminum vented inner fender kit. Rocker Knockers. BFH front bumper with Brawler Bar & shackle tabs. Rear Rock Brawler Bumper w/ shackle tabs. Steering skid. Rear bolt-on 3" DeFender flares. Hood louver.

Axles - Front axle is a 2015 JK Rubicon Dana 44. I did Artec truss, HD raised track bar bracket, upper & lower c-gussets, & lower control arm skids. Nitro sleeves. Yukon 5.13 gears. RuffStuff diff cover. I used a RuffStuff trackbar kit w/ new frame side bracket. Not running a steering stabalizer. Plan to add hydro-assist. Running stock axle shafts for now. Rear axle is a Ford 8.8 with a Detroit locker & 5.13 G2 gears. It has a Yukon Ultimate 88 kit, which is chromoly axle shafts & c-clip eliminator. BTF diff cover. Advance Adapters SYE kit. We made the rear driveshaft from a front XJ drive shaft.

Steering - RuffStuff Specialties GM Crossover Steering kit.

Lighting / Misc - Truck-Lite LED headlights, 25 white LED pods from www.under-glow.com , Synergy hood pins, Bartact grab handles & fire extinguisher holder, Autometer cobalt digital transmission temperature gauge.

Kenwood bluetooth CD player, 5.25" Kenwood dash speakers, 7" Kenwood sound pod speakers. Uniden Bearcat 880 CB radio mounted above rear view mirror & all wiring ran inside the windshield channel for a super clean install. Optima red top battery.

Rock Krawler X-Factor Long Arm w/ 4.5" springs & Bilstein 5100 series shocks.
