This is my second XJ I've ever owned. The first one I had I very regrettably junked when it blew a head gasket. Three years later, I saw this 88 posted on craigslist with a blown head gasket, otherwise it was in pretty good shape for the age. It took about a month of phone tag with the seller, but I finally managed to get face to face with him, and got the jeep for $350. Once I got it home, it took about another month of working in the snow, but I did a full rebuild on the head and got it running again.
To this point it's been up pickle gulch, yankee hill, and down Hamlin Gulch.
