Two connecting rod failures: 1st under warranty; 2nd 37k miles later. First went through oil pan with no audible warning. The 2nd began as a "tapping" sound that grew louder each time engine started.
Replacing engine with 90k mi used engine from LKQ, Plainfield, Indians. A test drive up to South Bend, IN before I drive to Southern California.
