You will have to remove all the hardware for your softop. You can re-use the nuts and bolts from the side rails , and the sheet metal screws from the windshield channel. get yourself some weatherstripping for the sides. If your Hardtop does not have the larger rubber seals in the front corners, you may wanna try and pick some up. I'm sure you can probably get them through Quadratec or go here:

Quadratec sells these kits, but it is really just some weatherstipping you can get a the local Hardware store or HomeDepot.

They also have these reinforcement kits, but I don't know how well they work. Anyone had any experience with this??

      jeepsarecool,

You wouldn't by chance have a part number and location that I can get one of those kits? I am kinda tired of the screws falling off as I am going down the highway. Not too fun reaching around for a screwdriver and retightenning the screws as I am driving in freeway traffic.
Irritating, isn't it? :D I've had about enough of that too. Try these links:

      Or

The bottom one is what I was considering. I noticed that this particular kit says for YJ's and that CJ's will need longer screws. I think this kit is sold somewhere for CJ's or maybe people just complained that it doesn't work without longer screws. Anyway, hope this helps.

I believe that at a minimim, you want to reinforce the frame portion with metal strip, or some type of insert.

the front edge isn't completely structural, but you absolutley want it secured.

theey do make a repair kit of sorts, for the hard-top at least, perhaps you could reverse it, and use it on the windshield? :dunno:
