Hutch - I guess it's too late now but it sounds like you got a grand or more in a Dana 30. You sure that is wise? Did I miss what size tire you plan to run?-Mopar346
Nah, I'm a cheap bastard. My Rabbi would kill me if I ever paid retail. I got the alloy axles and tru-trak @ Q-tecs open house. I even scored a set of Ion Wheels http://www.quadratec.com/products/92616_9X0X_C_PG.htm
Scratch & dent, returns etc. Even w/the neoprene seatcovers I spent last than 1k! A regular Morroccan Camel Trader.
Anwho, I'm thinking of 35x12.50s' or 33x12.50's. I've got 4" SL, 1"BL and 3/4" greasable Shackles. Gonna have to spend a few $$$ on the knuckle caster degree sleeves. Should have 700-800 in it.

Great looking Jeep, thanks for the reply. I plan on using ION 174's (20 lbs per wheel) or Ultra Type 164 (16.5 lbs!):

The ION is SICK looking but the Ultra is SOOOO light!

My plan is to use the 12.50 Duratracs and keep a 33 x 10.50 spare (cheapie used on a cheapie wheel ...if it gets stolen no biggie). I've read all about the sidewall and it's a risk I'll take once in awhile since I don't wheel much, as long as I have a spare. Like you say on the road they're awesome, love my 31 x 10.50's. I figure a 33 x 10.50 spare may fit on the stock spare carrier and the 33 x 12.50 tire won't without hacking/spacing the 3rd brakelight. This way I can get into the wheels/tires cheaper and have simpler tire rotations as well. I just don't want to go the BL / 12.50 route if it's going to seriously screw with driveability.

I wanna know what are your opinions on Ion Alloy wheels. Do they look good? Are they a good fit even if i don't do off-road? And which one do you prefer between those 2:

I don't have either of those, but I do have there 171's. I haven't actually had all 4 on the Jeep at the same time yet, But they look great with my new 33" M/TR K's and I can't wait to get them on the Jeep. :cheers2:

Looks great! Brings back a lot of memories!
I was very lucky that I had no frame rust. A few bolts were cut off that were being replaced when installing the lift. I also installed a family roll bar. Had two stripped torx bolts that I welded a nut onto to remove them. The heat from the weld was enough to help loosen them.

I have a Smittybilt XRC winch and happy with it.

I went with Federal Tires and they've been great. For an aggressive tread they're pretty quite too.
5 tires, 33x12.5 will fit in your budget

I went with Ion Alloy wheels.
