i am installing a JVC single DIN radio in my 2004 WJ.

Besides the faceplate bezel (Metra), what else do I need to interface it with the existing infinity amp and the control buttons on the steering wheel?

I think I need the AXXES ASWC-1 - but...dont the make a cable with a connector at both ends that will fit the JVC radio and the factory connector to the amp?

I also think I need a box to talk to the steering wheel switches. Who makes them? Which one is a good one?

      Thanks

      J

thanks...so here is where it is not clear. The harness has a plug on one end...I assume that the plug is inserted into the socket that goes to the infinity amp...but...how do I know what connections to make on the other end?
I assume it is to be connected to the wires on the JVC supplied dongel, but I cannot find instructions for connecting them.
      Guidance please?
      Thanks

Most 3rd party head units will work with the infinity system (AFAIK). Aftermarket head units require an 'adapter' to match the signals out of the head unit to the plug of the infinity system. Here is the adapter for the head unit I got

To maintain the steering wheel control capability requires buying an adapter. Here is one that I have used and works fine:

I have not noticed any interaction with the preset seat or mirror positions.

That Axxess adapter, any issues to watch out for? I wanna install a headunit in mine and was wondering which adapter to use. Did you just match wires?
