Why is this lift more expensive that the 3.5 inch suspension lift RC has?

Hey all. Sorry but I am still very new to this. :)

Could anyone tell me if this combination of rim, tire and lift would work for me? Thanks.

      99' Sahara Wrangler TJ Stock
Current tyres read 235/75/15. They used to be on Grizzly, but have been replaced with an unknown aftermarket rim.

So this is what I was thinking of getting to replace all of it. :) I am after something that will be good to commute with, and be okay off-road. Some forest trails etc are about as far as I go, for now. ;)

      Rim

      Mickey Thompson Classic II Wheel
      - 15" x 8" size
      - 3.32" backspace to allow for the fitment of large tyres.
      - Highly polished finish
      - Supplied with centre caps
      - 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern

      Tire

      Kumho KL71 33/12.50 R 15
      -Size : 33 x 12.5 R 15
-Extreme MT for mountain climbing & rock crawling
      -Improved on-road driving performance
      -Stone-ejector & Mud evaporation performance

      Lift
      http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_tj_combo_2.html

      2.5" Suspension / 1¼" Body with Shocks
+ 1" Motor Mount Lift Kit
      + Perf. Steering Stabilizer
      + 1.5" Wheel Spacers
      + Rear Track Bar Bracket

As I said, I am new to this so I have no idea if these tyres fit those rims on my Jeep. Is it worth going for a 16 rather than 15 RIM?

Soon to be buying myself a tj and researching the lift i would be able to afford which is the best bang for the buck.

Which of these is worth the money(i'm on a budget) if not one of these recommendation below $500?

      The 2.5 RC lift w/ 1.25"BL --
      Jeep TJ Suspension Lift

      or

      The 4" II series lift
      Jeep TJ Suspension Lift

I've only heard good things about the 2.5", not heard much about the 4"(Not X Series)

      98 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA BUILD

When i bought my jeep in September 2009 it was completely stock. I found it on Craigslist for $7,000 about 150 miles away from home. The jeep had 95,000 miles on it:2thumbsup: and a very minor radiator leak and a bad fan clutch.

      (the day i got her.

The weekend after i got my jeep i took it off road to see how it ran and wanted to test the 4 wheel drive, so i took it down some trails and to the flats.

COULDNT RESIST A STOCK FLEX SHOT

The next day i called Rough Country and ordered a 3.75 lift kit which consisted of 2.5 coils and 1.25 body lift and shocks, some sway bar quick disconnects, 1 inch motor mount lift, and a 1 inch transfer case drop all for $560 shipped (ended up not needing the transfer case drop). this lift allowed me to put 33x12.5r15's with 15x10 rims on with no rub( rims and tires for 5 cost me $450 on Craigslist) i also bought a uniden cb for $50:2thumbsup:
      Jeep TJ Suspension Lift

SOON AFTER THE LIFT I JOINED Frozen Axles Offroad - Powered by vBulletin and started exploring the Alaskan trails

      FLEX WITH THE NEW LIFT

With all of the trail ride i go on it was time to upgrade a little so i bought a warn rear bumper for $40 and Aussie lockers for my front and rear axles $ 100 each from guys in the club and got a borla exhaust for free:thumbsup:

Hello all, I am ccompletely new to Jeeping and have been reading info on this and other sites non stop since I bought my Jeep last week. I have a 2005 TJ that is bone stock. Its a DD so keep that in mind when answering my questions.

I have a good lead on a set of 31x10.5x15 BFG AT's on stock 96TJ rims. The tires are brand new (only two weeks of use) and I want to stick to 31's anyway because its my DD.

I want to go a little higher with the suspension but I am avoiding a BB like the plague. I had one on my 07 Tacoma and it rode like a tank!

I think I have my lift options narrowed down to the following:

      1. Zone offroad 3" suspension lift Zone Offroad Canada

      2. RC 3.75 Hybrid Lift with 2.5" suspension and 1.25 body lifts Jeep TJ Suspension Lift

      3. RC 3.25 Suspension Lift Jeep TJ Suspension Lift

I know the third has a small spacer puck but it should make to rough of a ride right?

If there are any other kits that you can suggest feel free. Just keep in mind that I'm on a budget and don't have OME money to blow!

      Thanks

Heres a pic of the new toy!

96 TJ rims? No such thing

I would go with just the RC2.5 or a BB if you are sticking with 31's

I bought the 3.75" combo from RC, and am fairly pleased with my results. I didn't receive the bump stops that are listed in the description and pictured in the picture (Jeep TJ Suspension Lift) I did however get these 2 metal box attachements that weren't in the instructions or the parts listing. So I called, and told them I did not receive bump stops. They said NO PROBLEM! As I expected the highly rated RC customer service to do, but they sent the same metal blocks.

I do not want the metal blocks, I want the bump stops that were supposed to be included in the package I bought. So I contacted RC customer service online and this was our conversation:

[Jimmie] Hello, how may I help you?
[Cam] Hey Jimmie... Whatsup with your current bumpstops? In the picture and description it shows that you guys were suppose to send me new bump stops, but you sent 2 metal brackets I'm suppose to screw in and I don't want to do that.
      [Cam] Jeep TJ Suspension Lift
      [Jimmie] they changed them
[Jimmie] they need to update the instructions
[Cam] I see that, but why weren't they changed in the picture or description? The way I see it I didn't receive what I purchased.
[Jimmie] they need to get it changed they havent changed it yet
[Cam] I agree, but <they haven't changed it yet>, which means "they" didn't send what was in the package that I bought.
      [Jimmie] im sorry
[Cam] That's all you're willing to do?
[Jimmie] im not the manager theres nothing i can do
      [Jimmie] what are you wanting
[Jimmie] they both work the same whether they look alike or not
[Cam] I want the bump stops that were suppose to be in the package that I bought. The normal, extended rubber bump stops. I do not want to drill into my frame to screw in some metal block that was not suppose to even come with my package according to your website.
[Jimmie] we dont have the rubber one anymore they quit buying them
[Jimmie] if you dont want to do that then you can call me and i can give you a rga to return it
[Cam] I don't want to return my lift. I'm happy with the lift, I want the bump stops that I was suppose to get.
[Jimmie] but i dont have them anymore
[Cam] Then that should have been brought to my attention before I spent money with your company.
      Rediculous.

I would look at these two lifts and choose which ever makes best sense for your long term plans.

http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-combo-lift-kit-646-7.html For this lift select the no shock option and buy some Sky Jacker hydro's instead. I would also add the 1" MML. I would only want this setup on a light weight rig with a soft top and no winch.

http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-products-4.25in-suspension-lift-kit-jeep-wrangler/j25-j26 This setup needs nothing changed or left out and can be used with a winch and, or hard top with less loss of height from the additional weight.
