Are you watching the mode change on a scanner? I have found it's not the engine temp that closes the loop. It's O2 sensor temp. Even on the coldest mornings mine closes in about 1 - 1.5 minutes.

Unplugging the O2 sensor will keep it in the open loop mode, running with default fuel, and may mask the real problem. But at least you'll know whether or not the problem is caused by closed loop.

Fuel pressure could be the problem but Have you thought about the front O2 sensor? It can cause a rich condition and can cause misfire codes without the PCM coding the sensor.

Did you take the connectors apart and look at them? The blower motor wiring contacts will get corroded and burn up from high current.


There's a blower motor relay that could be a problem.

Find the wiring going to the motor. Follow it and unplug ever connector you find. Most likely you'll find a burned wire.
