I believe it was indeed a parasitic drain. The lock cylinder is worn out or messed up in such a way that the key can be removed when it's in the ACC position. So all it takes is to have the key one...

Definitely not a bad idea, but I'd prefer to have a drain plug in the pan for convenience when I change the fluid in the future (pull drain plug, drink beer, come back when fluid is drained).
