if you really want a manual transmission, you more than likely won't be happy with an automatic. You may learn to enjoy it, but I bet in the back of your mind you will still wish you had the manual....

to clarify, my TJ has all the factory (replaced them once already) cats in place, it's not all that loud until you get on...

well shoot, I'm that guy. My tj has no muffler and a straight pipe out the back.

and my 46 has about 2 feet of exhaust pipe from the turbo, and kicking up dust.

deal with it. >:)

Why not just replace the muffler and not mess with the rest of it? A stock style replacement muffler should be pretty darn quiet.

I'm not sure that a short glasspack would be much quieter than...

I wouldn't do anything with the transmission if it's working right. I beat on my 6 speed (2006) and it's 160k miles with no issues.
