I've had good luck at tire dealers like Goodyear and newer junk yards that have used tires for like $20 a tire, the trick is finding 4 of the same size and same brand :) They don't exactly advertise...

Yes, thermostat's seem to be a cheap culprit of many overheating problems, maybe b/c of the prolonged non use could be causing it to sieze, maybe use one of those prestone additives that helps...
