Other than a mess of oil, what happens when your valve cover gasket goes really bad? Are there any compression issues? Should it run like crap or will it just leak oil?

I found it to be fairly easy. Just be sure you have coil compressors and very tall jackstands. Even a few blocks of wood to put underneath the jack and jackstands will help.

Not the fan. The noise is not coming from the fan, its coming from closer to the fire wall, under or around the valve cover. Its really weird.
