Were the iron rock brackets angled to repllicate the OEM brackets? All these vendors who sell these brackets never give a good description or picture to see if they are angled or straight.

The OEM brackets are tacked onto the upper spring...

The OEM brackets are tacked onto the upper spring mount as well. So that should give you another contact point.

i've seen a cpl post that suggest swapping out drum to disc in the rear isn't a significant difference. Probably since most of your stopping power comes from the front...
