Give the crank a full turn and recheck. It looks to me like you are at the top of the exhaust stroke, not the compression stroke. Timing set is correct.

I wouldn't do anymore than a 1.25" body lift (they look hideous). If not wheeling it, a 2" budget boost should do the trick for you.
