It won't show all tve modes due to the XJ 242 not having the mode plate built the same as ZJ 242.
That being said, it will show if you're in rwd or 4wd.. I've got an XJ 242 in my niner.

I agree mostly, but the fact is steering alignment needs to be correct to prevent DW. Caster angle and toe-in plays a big role in steering self-centring and self-correcting - if that doesn't happen...
