I run an Alien Sunshade in the summer because bikinis seem to flap too much. I actually leave it on all the time and put the soft top back on over it for winter.

I don't know about making it not glossy, it does have a pseudo glossy sheen to it but not the same as gloss paint.

It's not rubberized so...

I don't really know, it does sound more air like that metal on metal rubbing though. Although, I've had an idler pulley on a LS motor go bad and make a similar type noise.

Which trans is it? The AX-15 calls for motor oil. I wouldn't put gear oil in it, it'll be too thick. Either use motor oil or something like Redline MT90.

If you're getting rid of stuff, google "Nutter Bypass" can't really just start unplugging stuff. I'd check for vacuum leaks around the brake booster too if you're stalling when hitting the brakes.

Napa carries the plastic clips in a Dorman "Help" pack on the shelf, you can get GM, Ford or Chrysler specific or a multi-pack. I'd just a piece of rod and bend it as needed.
