I didn't say the Detroit was bad, simply; my preferance would be the selectable over the Detroit if i were to need an S35 kit again.

Theres no effect on the starter from "priming" it. It has the volts necessary to do the work or it doesn't.
I'd look a tthe fuel pump myself. Go to Auto zone and rent the fuel pressure tester....

Can you be speciffic about the hardware you need?
Is it just the nuts and bolts?? if so Ace Hardware can help.
If it's brackets, a local fab shop can set you up.
