I'll just hit the junk yard and grab a OBD1 harness and computer. We have a plethora of XJ's in the yards around me so I should be able to find it.

My only real concern is the wiring at the bulk head connector. Is that wiring the same and just the sensors and the extra O2 sensor the difference in the swap?

I'm not sure on the red tops. I've been building trophy trucks and things of that nature for the last 8 years or so and we ONLY used the yellow tops. so I haven't done anything with the Red Top

just throwing out the free suggestions. I have no idea what it is, I've just seen belts make crazy sounds. then that piece breaks off then it goes away, then more shreds and it comes back.

nope. but he also said it starts and stops radomly. he said he pushed the clutch in and it stop but, he let it out and it didn't start again so it makes me think it wasn't clutch related.
