After my second resistor blew I pulled the motor even though it "appeared" to be working fine. It was very difficult to turn by hand, even though it seemed to be working. A cheap replacement (around...

$1800! My body guy was talking around $100 for a "cut" and $200-$300 to burn it on if I brought it in with the fender off.

The FSM says to remove the bumper but we didn't (I don't plan on ever...

You could also try adjusting it first--there is a bit of "back and forth" adjustment available (it's nice to have a helper to try the starter while you're under the Jeep). It is possible to break...

Just went through this with mine. Check the 10 wire connector behind the driver's side headlight. Mine was corroded and the low beam wire finally broke.

I had highs, directionals, all rear lights...

I wouldn't worry about it. I would, though, have a look at the head just to make sure it hasn't cracked (yet).

I'm running Superior Chromo shafts, (27 spline), ARB, 4.56 D/S R&P, and a Ruff Stuff diff cover. I've had zero problems. I don't generally go nuts with the skinny pedal, but when circumstances...

I would guess that you need a new crank position sensor. A VERY common problem and a bit of a PITA to change. You can test it with a multimeter (though if the problem is intermittent it may still...

Yup, if I had to do it over I'd have them build my 8.8. It would have been the same or lower cost and a LOT less hassle!

Yes.

Make sure they know you have a '99. The '00 and '01s have the low pinion D30.

If you're serious about running 33s and have an auto tranny I'd go with the 4.56s. They will put your RPMs...

All four of my XJs have 242s. The 242 weighs about 20lbs more and is "slightly" less strong. The ability to run in Full Time is great if you're in the snow belt.

Where is it leaking? If it's a hot day and you're driving it hard (especially while towing), you can boil the tranny fluid and it will come out of the dipstick tube, spray on the exhaust and leave an...
