Keep in mind if you're burning out the resistor, it's likely due to the fan aging out and drawing more and more current. I'd also replace the fan motor at the same time.

That's where I put mine, and I ran an intake hose to the air filter box with a fitting, so it pulls filtered air out of the factory box.

On a side note, mounting my compressor to that location...

I went through all kinds of steering parts and none of them lasted longer than a year. I finally quit it all and went PSC. It would have actually been cheaper had I done that to start with.
