My 2009 had a bent rear axle shaft that also had excessive lateral play. Turning one direction vs. the other cause a crazy brake rub sound. It was obnoxiously loud.

I wouldn't consider it easy. I wrench for a living and replacing the lower intake gasket plus a full tune-up took me about six hours.

Take a look at the hinge bushing. The stock bushings are junk. I recommend a set of bushings made out of Delrin. Doors go on and off like butta.
