I don't have the wiring diagram handy for the 2020, but check on the TIPM. It controls the trailer lights, if it detects a fault, I don't think it will send power to the circuit.

The MOPAR mats are thick rubber. They can hold a bit of slush. Some of the aftermarket mats have holes in then to accommodate the tie downs, which is a leak point.
