Mine does this too (2005 WK 4.7 545RFE trans) once in a while; from what I gather it is normal, even if it is annoying. It's been an issue since this powertrain came out in the WJ.

I have the 3872; got it for about $150 unlocked. I have the 4.7 and while the tuner doesn't make it a rocket (which you shouldn't expect) it's definitely a noticeable difference in responsiveness....

So long story short the issue fixed itself...I think I just didn't burp it correctly; I put the old thermostat back on so I could return it and the engine was totally cold, so that must have helped...
