You should try a maxy fuse 30 amp in its place and see how it does. You can get them in 30, 40, and 50 amp. I would try it at 30 and step it up if it happens to a 40.

The breaker gets warn every time it opens and resets. Pay attention to when its happening. You said it was at night so the lights were on. Were you running the heater blower?

You're going to have an issue with the controller. Its setup for an electronic transmission. The wiring layout is very different. Not a good swap for the electrical side of things.

The vent tube or the connections for the supply or return line. I seriously dont think you have a bad tank. You need to drop it to look at it better.
