Now if he was refering to the rear suspension, it has 2 bushings and a ball joint . Maybe that was it but it never called a wishbone just upper suspension arm

Have you done the cluster diagnostic, hold the trip button in and turn on the key. Does the speedo do a full sweep?
Maybe the needle is just not on the zero position.

Closing the hood and the voltage went up sounds like either a bad battery...
