That switch changed in '98. I forget what the new name is, offhand. So, 98-01. They do cost more than the NSS. I did use one of the cheap after market ones. It work good. I have rebuilt one or two....

I just don't trust Autozone stuff. There is a place in TX that does short blocks for the 4.0L. I remember around $1000. Also, look at the Clearwater head for the 4.0L or I think Titan might make one....

I would paint a white stripe on the harmonic balancer. See if it is slipping. They don't cost a bunch and is the elastomer goes bad, it can wipe out a crankshaft.

The one in the picture is a newer master cylinder. Don't know the time frame, but my 98 XJ has that one. The instructions are for bench bleeding.
Basically, there are two ports on the side of yours....
