Check for a short between your sensor ground wire...

Check for a short between your sensor ground wire and 5 volt reference. That was the problem with mine and I had similar symptoms to yours.

It would take a lot of bending and twisting, but I wonder if you could get an angle grinder in there to drill it out. Probably easier to just drop everything.

If the filter doesn’t work maybe check things out electronically first. Also, if dirty hands are a concern, heavy duty nitrile gloves work great and still allow you to grip things well.

Temp sensor question.

I have a code P1281. Scanner says I’m at 92 degrees but the dash gauge seems to be working properly and the coolant is good and warm when I touch the hoses.

Is there more than one sensor on...
