BeardyHat Got almost all my freeze plugs out today, but I'm not sure where this little bitty guy needs to go. I think it's the front of the head, but I haven't disassembled the frontend yet to see.

The rear heads is going to be a giant pain to get the plugs back into, as they're concealed just enough to not be able to get a socket and hammer into, but I'm glad I'm doing this project.

After getting the plugs out, what can only be described as baby crap with grit in it, is sitting at the bottom of my cooling system. It's absolutely filthy and I'm excited to eventually flush all that crap out and have a well functioning system again. Looking at all this, I'm almost certain my overheating has stemmed from blockages.

Also, the new plugs I got are slightly bigger in diameter and a good deal thicker than the old plugs. Will this cause me any problems? Also, in third picture, is that the appropriate head plug? It looks about the right size, but it's definitely bigger.

Lastly (sorry for the long post.), I'm pretty sure I'm missing a motor mount bolt on the driver's side. I didn't notice when I replaced the mounts several years ago, but there's only three bolts in my driver's side mount at the block when it looks like there should be four.

Do you have any good sources for this? Been doing some searching and found the part for the 4.0/42re, but the part for the 44re is discontinued/not for sale on every site that I've found so far.

Well that sucks! Hope admins will get that sorted.

There’s a review on Amazon that says that this “engine oil” one is the same cooler for much cheaper. Looks the same but who knows...

Great find!

I have the same one as Polka and if you couldn’t tell from his pictures it takes a decent amount of modifications to the front end and it is still a tight fit. I have zero complaints as far as cooling goes. Also be aware that you have to get adapters (a couple buck each) from 1/2” NPT to 3/8” barbed fittings to connect the cooler lines.

I have the same cooler just waiting for me to install it. No fan though, and I put a bung in the pan to check temps instead of the line out from the TC. Canít wait to get the time to get the Jeep back on its tires. Watching this thread helps motivate me haha

If I am not mistaken (and do correct me if I am wrong); but I believe the indented cup looking things are the freeze plugs, and not the ones with the square holes

I bypassed my radiator with a large B&M cooler. It's got a built in bypass orifice for cold weather. I also added a power steering cooler.
The connections are 3/8 flared mostly. I put a temp sender for atf temps in the bottom line coming from the torque converter.

Mr. Puddles Finally got around to swapping the old crank pulley out for one with rubber that ISNT coming out and replaced the front seal at the same time. Hopefully no more oil leak. At least from there. Still need to do the filter adapter. Really tired of smoke screening people on the highway.

FlamingRain Does anyone have any idea why my coolant temp sensor would work when KOEO (Key on, engine off), but doesn't when the engine is started? I have the Check Engine light and code P0117, which is coolant temp sensor voltage low.

On another note, I cleaned it out today because unfortunately, I am selling it when I move to Chicago in two weeks.

Long post and listing later for those who are interested.

Yup! Did some research and it looks like the smaller ones with the square holes are oil gallies for the cam. I got what I assume are replacements for them in the kit that I ordered, so I'm going to go ahead and replace them as well.
