Good day. Just looking for some feedback on the Rampage frame-less top. It appears to be a cheaper option than a Viking ... and more versatile that the Trek top.

Although an old post, I regret to inform you that you are mistaken. I have the Sailcloth top and it is just as sturdy as the OEM top if not better designed. Glad you know what you are talking about, as you are not running the actual product in question. Another generic statement based on "hear-say".

It attaches to the roll cage and can be configured as a full soft top, a safari top (no windows, just covering the front and rear seats), or you can take all of it off.
does the bowless top fold back like a regular soft top does? or is it just a windows optional thing, or completely topless thing?
There are a couple good threads more recent about the top. Check my sig for my experience. It has a link to the more comprehensive thread in the first post.

I put the Rampage Fast Back top on yesterday. It was slightly difficult to install, but next time will no problem. The quality of materials appears really good and the fit on my 2004 TJ is perfect, nice and tight. It doesn't flap at all at highway speeds with the windows up, but of course there is some noise with the windows down, but it is no worse than the factory top. The seams and weather-proofing seem good too. It has been raining since I installed it (about 36 hrs.) and not a drip got inside. So far so good. If anything bad happens I will do another post, but for now I really like it. Oh, and it looks cool as hell!

I'm thinking about getting one of these as a full time replacement to my 8 year old (and worn out) OEM soft top. Does anyone else have one? What are you impressions? What sort of header does it require? I've got a Mopar bikini top I'd like to still be able to use, but I don't really want to keep switching out headers. Any input people have is appreciated.

Also, I could have sworn I saw Bestop making something similar, but now I can't seem to find it on Quadratec.com. Am I remembering incorrectly?

I have the viking...it's great. It uses the no-drill header, so I think your Mopar will work. The best part is, this top is a "safari" when you take off the back and sides and store them in the top! No need to switch back and forth. The only considerations are: the top is sloped in the back limiting rear seat headroom and the ability to install the rear bar of the RockHard cage.

How well does it keep water out, especially up near the top of the A frame? I'm asking because my bikini top fits into the OEM door surrounds but still leaves a gap right at the corner that allows a good deal of water in. If this top has a similar problem, it's not really what I'm looking for, as I'd like it to be a full time replacement for my factory soft top.

I have this top, and I have had the bestop sailcloth also. Between the two the Rampage top is better hands down imho. Easier to put up and I think it is quieter on the road at highway speeds. No problems so far with any type of leakage. According to the Rampage rep who I have talked with personally, they made the made the top when it was being sold as the viking.

I got this top back in March and I really can't say enough about it. I LOVE it. I've got an 02 TJ that I like to keep as open as possible, and this definitely helps. The windows storing in the top means I have plenty of space in back to throw my two piece soft doors, so I can keep my jeep as naked as possible while still being able to close it all back up where ever I may be. Best of all, my besttop trail cover fits right over this top, unlike with the OEM soft top. I always keep the top on to keep the sun off me, and now I don't have to choose between putting all the windows back on or risking getting my interior rain soaked.

I know some people complained about the quality of craftsmanship in this thread or others, but this thing is just as solid as the OEM. All the velcro is good, stitching is solid, zippers are high quality.

I give this top an A+ and would recommend it to anyone. My only complaint was that initial install was a pain in the *** (even with two people), but that was likely due to me doing it on a chilly, overcast day and the material had a hard time stretching.

I've been running the Viking version (before rampage bought them) for almost 4 years and I love it.

The only time I've noticed water intrusion is if I don't secure the velcro at the back top, sometimes water gets in there. That's about it.

I purchased the non-sailcloth version last Fall and was pleased with how the Rampage top perform here in Buffalo. I did wait a tad bit too long into the cold weather to install the top for the first time. It was really tough by myself, but I did manage. This Spring and Summer it has come off and gone on again very easily. I think the top is first rate.
