I don't typically name vehicles, unless they have done something awesome, and even then, I make it an acronym for the license plate letters.
For example, my truck plate starts with HM. Thus, the truck is called "Her Majesty", because it is the best name for a giant rusty truck.
My Jeep is "Oliver, the Tiny Vehicle Killer". The plate contains "TVK" and "tiny vehicle killer" was the winner of a facebook contest I had to decide the name. It is named Oliver because I drowned it, brought it back, and it simply says "Please sir, may I have some more!"
