downs Completely different engine bay design. The XJ was originally designed to have an I4 and a V6 not a long I6. They had to modify the firewall from it's original design to shoehorn the I6 in there, this also put constraints on things like radiator sizing. The TJ and YJ were both designed from the getgo with the I6 in mind. I believe this is what has caused many of the XJ issues that the other 4.0L equipped Jeeps do not have issues with.

Thanks, That will be the first thing I've done to my XJ within my budget. Not sure why my TJs never had all of these problems. Maybe better owner maintenance because their value is so much higher.

Lots of info out there about that. I was considering doing it too when I replaced my water pump but did not.
Just a pipe thread fitting so....
Something like this in the appropriate size.

TheBoogieman Found the source of my antifreeze leak. Water pump inlet tube wasn't tightened down completely by the PO when he replaced the pump. Now I need to rig up a new tube that can be tightened without removing everything. I'm thinking a shorter straight tube and longer hose.

No at the moment I am just trying to work on position.
If and when I get this figured out will post in more detail with pictures.

Did you weld in the brackets for the rear seat headrests? I got my brackets from a Grand Cherokee & had the brackets cut out from the back of the GC & welded into the XJ.

Ralph77 Taken the last couple days off but for a few days before that was feeling my way through my rear seat headrest install.
Have not figured out everything yet but am getting there.

downs Yesterday I dropped a new Efan in it that I got from a local salvage Jeep an swapped the older pin style wiper arms out for 97+ wiper arms and new wiper blades front and rear. This morning I adjusted the driver's door striker pin in just hair so the back of the door would seal. I've had some wind noise from that area for a while but it hasn't been very loud, one day I looked back and noticed light coming in from the lower part of the door seal (these are brand new door seals) so did a small adjustment. Seals great now and the door is flush with the one behind it again.

This is actually pretty interesting. I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on your progress.

In other news, I'm gonna be back stateside the month of September officially so the jeep will finally get to be driven and mods will be installed. I have everything just about ready for the rocktrak swap except drive shafts which I can't order until I get the measurements with it installed. The guy I purchased it from installed 1350 yikes on it so I'm thinking about just getting matching pinion yokes rather than running a conversion joint at both ends. Once I swap to tons down the road, all I will need to do is lengthen or shorten the shafts.

Got hooked up with some seats from an 03 sequioa. The fold flat option sits at 17 high from the front cab floor. Should just mock up to fit under a bed platform system Ill be building flush with the rear wheel wells.

Onto tear down and adapting a narrower set of tracks to fit the trans tunnel.

Ralph77 So I figured I let the bedlined tail light guards cure long enough.
Put them back on.

Awhile back Kmart, I think, was blowing this out at something like $2 a can. So I figured I would
grab it and maybe it will come in handy for something.

So I decided to try it on this small leak I have developed. I thought I might have gotten it the first time but noooo.
The first time I used that 3M RTV that comes in the strips in the box. Decided to try the Rustoleum out.
Using my air hose I think I figured out where the small section I missed is. Right around the plate under that bolt.
