BagusJeep I have Jeeps that start without the key. The lock cylinder is bust.

Yep, any GM column from the early 70s will be the same, most of the parts you can just get for a GM column. (cheap) The new lock cylinder will be a GM, may even come with a GM logo key. Just make sure you get the correct year, i got a Cherokee XJ lock mixed up with a CJ lock cylinder and found one was 1/16" longer, still drove it for 6 months even though it was not engaging very well.

Ollie09 It's a GM column. Go here to get all the info you need on GM columns. In you're case, I'd bet the rack is broken=common problem.

Ignition lock cylinder replace write up needed?

Hi All,

I've searched but keep coming up with dead links etc. Can someone point me in the right direction for a write up to change a tilt wheel lock cylinder. My Jeep will start without the key haha...had this thing for years and just figured this out.

Thanks in advance.
