|Jeepinpgh||This all has to do with EU safety standards for pedestrian collisions. There was an interesting article on this as it relates to the new Ford Bronco. Even the shape of car badges are regulated! https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...badge-details/|

Here in Italy, bull bars or similar things are illegal.
If the car comes from the factory with things it is ok, but then you can't add it or something else that is not listed in the car title.
You can add things only after a long homologation process, but it is expensive and modifications allowed are really few.
For example, to add winches is a real pain...., steel bumpers another pain....
There are only some parts for some car brands that can be installed, ....at a real high cost.
99% of all the modifications I see on this forum, in Italy can't be done, ...absolutely.
An example: I have chromed american tow hooks, but I couldn't install them, because they are not homologated in Italy (don't know in the rest of Europe)

It will have a function in snowy weather.
But not a good function.

It wasn't actually there when I went. Either I missed it, or someone had already pulled it as the beige(?) WJ I saw didn't have this on it.

|underscore||What's even weirder than someone specing that thing, is that it even exists as an option in the first place. How did this make it through all the different stages of the design and manufacturing process without someone putting their hand up and saying it looks absolutely horrendous?|

|WJ60||You might see one of those on my WJ someday............................after I sold it. LOL|

|mak_v8||It is a very rare Mopar part; if it was in Italy, I would buy it only for its rarity, not for installing it (also because here it is illegal....)|

|HarryH3||It seems that Jeep didn't sell many of those. I've only spotted one in person. I'm also not a fan. Nowhere to mounts lights, winch, etc.|
