That's a good idea.

rebiobike77 great info!! thanks ColdCase, i normally do every 6500 miles aprox. normally 30% on the oil indicator if im correct.

ColdCase The North American oil change interval for 2016 V6s is whenever the oil change indicator says its time but should not exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km), twelve months or 350 hours of engine run time, whichever comes first. Severe duty is 4000 miles (6500 km). The oil change indicator usually lights up between 8000 and 12000 miles, unless you spend a lot of time idling or in cold weather stop and go traffic. For 2016 use API Certified SAE 0W-20 Engine Oil, meeting the requirements of FCA Material Standard MS-6395 such as MOPAR, Pennzoil, and Shell Helix. Refer to the engine oil filler cap for correct SAE grade.

Other model years have different recommendations.

EU mandates vehicle to be designed for extended oil changes, at least 10000 miles I think, to reduce pollution.

For some reason that I don't understand the US oil change interval is 5,000 miles when the exact same cars in Europe have a 12,000 mile oil change recommendation. Maybe its down to lobbying by the oil companies? I am old school, if the oil is clean when I change it I am good, if it dirty you need to change it sooner.

Regarding your spark plugs, the maintenance schedule says 100K Miles I changed mine at 110K and the gap was much bigger than .44 but there was still some electrode left and they could have worked for at least another 10K. Changing the plugs on the V6 is not easy so I would hold off unless you know you have plug related problems. Unless you are really good with tools you may want to consider getting this done by a professional mechanic.

ColdCase 60,000 miles may be for severe duty, like using your Jeep for police, taxi, fleet, offroad or frequent trailer towing. Otherwise the transmission fluid doesn't need to be changed. It may be a prudent thing to do around 120,000 miles, however. Exports could be different.

rebiobike77 Thanks for your fast reply, yes i saw the video on you tube about it. I guess i will wait then, the same with my transmission fluid which says on my manual to change it @60,000 miles, dont know why is different than US.

ColdCase Changing V6 spark plugs is a big job, I think there is a write up in the maintenance sticky thread. No reason to change them for routine maintenance before their 100,000 mile due date.

GC 3.6 V6 2016 spark plugs replacement.

Hi there guys, well most of the time on my previous cars/suvs i normally replace the spark plugs before what it says on the manual. My GC has aprox 56,000 miles and i have already replace 2 coils, coolant and i use pennzoil platinum 0W20 oil every 6500 miles. So i wonder if i should consider the spark plugs.

Thanks in advance.
