Bigrigr Watch the rear output shaft seal, thats were mine ended up leaking after i filled up my empty case......It was bone dry there when i started.

the cueball Just to come back to this... I got it all sorted out..

There was literally no fluid in the case!

No signs of a leak anywhere either...

I’ve filled it back up and all seems to be working fine again...

Cheers!

CarlJH 99SK04GTX thats a good price, although the shipping to Scotland via sea freight would be rather lengthy and expensive!

CarlJH Petronas Arbor was supplied to me by the Jeep dealer who only charged me £9 for 5 litres! as they hadn't changed the retail unit from £9 per bottle to £9 per litre.
I think Jeep have changed the spec again to an 80 weight oil now.
no longer an option for me since they went bankrupt and my closest one is 80 miles away now

Westway lubricants??

I use them for all my oils/brake fluid/fork oil etc...

I’ve found their products really good and value for money.

Actually just got the ‘super special’ Jeep power steering fluid from them too..

Thanks all... I’ll get my @ss out in the cold and snow to get the service done and report back!

Spyder62 With Quadra trac 2 your not gonna get all wheel drive.(4 wheels spinning) Only one wheel on each differential will spin at a time.( Open differentials) it’s possible you have an optional limited slip in the rear. (Both wheels spin in the rear)For the most part 4 wheel drive is actually two wheel drive. Onewheel spins in the front and one wheel spins in the rear.

CarlJH LuthWJ77 that's what the Mopar stuff is, just with a big blue M label and a bigger price tag!

LuthWJ77 I thought the 247 needed the special mopar stuff?

the cueball I tried the 4lo on the way home and I can feel that all 4 wheels have traction.

I’ll be doing the oil change in a couple of weeks, so I guess fingers crossed that’ll fix it!
