jtec Yes I am dated - I still have a point file. In my posts I often use old terms, names for parts (ALDL) - what can one say training and years.

A s far as not seeing code before - have you had that scanner on jeep before-
A TSB is not a freebie warranty concerns are often posted in the fine print last paragraph of TSB - did you see a copy?

you will want to look at o2 sensors esp the B1S2* that is post cat and compare to pre cat.

* this is the reference in TSB - SO is it behaving as TSB alluded to?
Also look at freeze frame for that code,

Will pick up on the post later - mean time ck for exhaust leaks.
any exhaust leak.

Thanks for the response! Yes it is P013A on my fancy new scanner & P0130 on my old one (I still use it because it reads faster LOL). By GIGO do you mean Garbage in/out? You are dating yourself my friend! LOL

Just Google'd that TSB, a PCM reprogram... that's odd, never had this code before changing the sensors. I assume this is a dealer only job? Is it something that should be free since there's a TSB on it?

jtec need to address sensors issues before CAT code. GIGO

Are you sure the code is not P013A ? referance TSB - # 18-010-10 REV. A

Yes left side (driver) is B1.

Well the weather and my schedule have finally provided an opportunity for me to tackle this again. I've replaced Bank-1 Sensor-2 with a brand spanking new NTK CARB compliant O2 sensor. Just to confirm, Bank1 is driver's side right? I'm getting P0420 & P0130A codes now... photos attached.

@jtec

Is it possible I received a bad O2 sensor right out of the gate? How likely or unlikely is that? I think I will try swapping the O2 sensors on Bank 1/2 sensor 2 and see if the DTC switches to the other bank. Is that a logical troubleshooting step?

jtec with scanner look at freeze frame - and then look at o2 sensor voltages - compare B1S2 to B2 S2 see if they are stuck rich... not sweaping back and forth.. suspecting the 1/2 is fixed with little sweep and -

you did remove the anti foulers? recheck the plug in connector at o2 sensor. If there was no issue before the anti foul adventure - I would now suspect the o2 sensor is bad.
@jtec

Just so I can learn, which elements on the read out lead you to this conclusion?

Ideally the pre and post voltages are graphed and stacked for comparison.

My thinking if the pre cat are HIGH the post cats might not show improvement ...
With the sensor plugged it COULD not show a acceptable voltage sweep.
@jtec

No more cat related codes (P0420/0430) and the only code that keeps popping back up is P2271 Bank 1 Sensor 2 Rich. Finally got my new scan tool. Here are the screens, I have no idea what this data means!

Even if it's not touching the sensor? It was applied to the no-fouler, allowed to dry & cure 24hrs, and then a second no-fouler in-between to act as a buffer protecting the sensor.

Just to clarify, all four sensors are brand-new NTK CA Emissions sensors from Rockauto. Only the 2 downstream sensors have the no-foulers installed, 1/1 & 2/1 are straight to the pipe, so should be reporting correct data to the PCM.

I will remove them in the morning.

With the sensors installed correctly, you tried to clear code with scanner? It Would not clear correct?
The P0420 & P0430 would return after a couple dozen miles. NO CODES WHATSOEVER (not even pending) prior to cleaning out the throttle-body. No-fouler worked for P0430 on Bank2 and no new codes for bank2 with the no-fouler.

I would drive a drive cycle and see if the 2 post fouler codes clear before we go on, I am thinking the Einstein idea might have caused the new codes, the sensors not shifting at all.
That's what I'm thinking as well.

With your scanner lets give a quick look at ECT, Fuel trims, and o2 sensor voltages. Want to see if anything upstream is out of spec and cat cannot clean the mix up.
I have a much more basic scanner, just displays codes and allows clearing of them. I plan to get a better one, but at the moment this is all I have.

Might try getting a long drive seeing if heat will clean up any cat issue from over rich caused by additives, as we check on new post cat codes (P22xx) and check upstream readings....
I've put about 300miles on since this issue all started, and one of the 1st things I tried was running a bottle of CataClean through the system. That was nothing more than a waste of $25.

Thanks for the offer, but I really don't think I need a new one. The butterfly valves still operates correctly.
